About Us
Partnerships in The Gambia is a UK registered charity. We believe that education, healthcare and sustainable livelihoods are the key to enabling people in The Gambia to make a better future for themselves. The Gambia is the smallest nation in Africa and also one of the poorest. As a primarily facilitating organisation we believe the way to deliver our purposes is to work in partnership with other organisations – in both the UK and The Gambia.
The purpose of Partnerships in The Gambia is to advance education, relieve sickness, promote health and relieve poverty by supporting the creation of sustainable livelihoods.
We recognise the strength in the development of partnerships and aim to deliver our purposes this way, through both local and international partnerships, offering a hand up not just a hand out, enabling Gambians to help themselves, rather than creating dependency.
We are very proud of what we have achieved over many years working in partnership with the NGO WYCE Gambia. This long-standing partnership has now ended, but we are determined to continue our work.
The change brings new opportunities for us to provide much needed support in other areas of The Gambia where we know that better access to education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods can make a real difference to people's lives.
The charity, now with a new name, remains fully committed to working within The Gambia to continue our work through existing and new partnerships. Your support is vital in enabling us to do this, and we would love you to get involved and have a direct influence on what we do - from decision making to running events to helping us spread the word.
If you feel you are able to support us in any way please get in touch…
